Gull

It's raining, the boys are busy with homework, so I have some precious spare moments to see how yesterdays attempts at a moving target went!

I tried to single out just one of the gulls and get it at various points during it's flight across the back field.

Then off and away beyond the fence.

Connecting to Wild Bird Wednesday, but don't worry Findlay, it's just a one off bird post.

Hungarian Vizsla

With the boys away at Grandma's for half term, I have had chance to play with my new camera.  I had a slightly unwilling subject as you may notice from his expression.

This is Jura, our much loved hound.  He will probably pop up many times in my blog. These pictures were taken in the evening with an auto flash, so all criticism welcome - I'm here to learn afterall.

I know the background could for with changing for a start, but the hound refused to move more the 4ft from the fire - can't say I blame him.

So there we go, my first shoot with a live "model"! Improvement suggestions welcomed, no matter how harsh (I have thick Yorkshire skin)!

A Natural Black & White

It was not a feeling of delightful enthusiasm that shot through me when Findlay bounced into my room at 6:48am (yes 6:48 exactly) demanding a trip to Marbury Park.  After feigning sleep for 3 minutes and hoping his dad would respond, there was nothing to do but admit defeat. And I am so glad I did.

Due to the early hour, fog and mist, we got to see one of our favourite haunts in glorious shades of black and white.

The Mallards drifted in and out of the mist.

Evening with the limited light, the perfectly flat water produced some stunning reflections and mirror images.

Sunken logs took on eerie personalities as we walked along the lakeside. I saw witches fingers, whilst Findlay saw a face watching us stroll by,

A few touches of colour started to creep in as it was time to leave.

A beautiful start to the day.

Nature's Sedative!

What better way to relax after a hard week at work than with a glass of Chablis and an ever changing sky?

We have had the most fabulous sunsets over Cheshire this year, something you can never get tired of.

It always amazes me just how quickly the colours twist, merge and deepen within minutes.

How could I resist getting the camera out tonight.

Footballers and chaos have returned, but that half hour of natures fireworks was just enough to sooth the soul in time for the weekend.

The Simple Things

If I could live by the sea I would..........and one day I will.

These pictures are far from perfect (taken on a little digital cannon camera in the Summer), but they evoke such happy, lazy, simple holiday memories.

The simplest things in life are the ones that bring the most pleasure.

I can hear the sea right now!

Fire & Brimstone

So here we go, my journey into blogging and photography. And what better way for a Wilde girl to start than with sparks, fire and bright lights (in the absense of champagne).

So please, help me on my journey and be as critical of my pictures as you like. I am here to learn.

My images will be all the things I love, from wildlife and stunning scenery to more quirky "stuff".

So there we go, hopefully a vibrant, colourful start with lots more to come.

And a big, big thank you to my son Findlay for inspiring me to do this after starting his own blog
Wilde About Birds

So I am linking to Our World Tuesday and Sky Watch Friday to get me started and await my first blogging contact!
